"Which is why I needed the isolation. My high priests have been drilling me in it and I'm finally ready." He leaned on the table, drawing in a few deep breaths. "I'm quite sure I'll be unable to sleep," he said, though his body looked on the verge of collapse. They had filled his head with wonderful visions, and even when he practiced he could feel the power rising around him.
The false Doll stroked his leg. "As if you're the poster child for good sleep habits," Billy mumbled. "I will, don't fuss." When Billy looked back at the scroll the false Doll twisted its neck around and stared directly at Peter. No words, but all the same there seemed to be some meaning in its dull gaze.
